Replit Agent is a newer, more autonomous product than Replit's older Ghostwriter assistant, built specifically to go from a plain-language description to a deployed, working application rather than just suggesting code inside an existing project. It plans out the steps needed, writes the code, provisions a database and other infrastructure through Replit's own cloud environment, and can test and fix its own work as it goes.
Because everything runs inside Replit's existing cloud IDE, a generated app is live and reachable at a URL immediately, without a separate deployment step the way most AI app builders need. That tight loop between generation, hosting, and iteration is Replit's main differentiator against Lovable, Bolt, or v0, all of which also generate full applications but with varying degrees of separation between the builder and the hosting.
Usage is billed through Replit's credit system on top of its Core plan, roughly $25 a month, reflecting that Agent usage can vary a lot by task complexity rather than fitting neatly into a flat subscription.
